Tammany Trace - Closures

  

The Tammany Trace will be closed from Koop Drive to the Mandeville Trailhead on Saturday, September 29th from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm.

The event, Bald and Beautiful Bicycle Ride is a fundraiser to benefit the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.

St. Tammany Outreach for the Prevention of Suicide Awareness will be holding their 5K Walk/Run event One Step at a Time.

Koop Drive Trailhead / Kids Konnection / Children's Museum of St. Tammany

Mandeville Trailhead

The Mandeville trailhead is not officially available to rent, but offers activities at no charge. Along with weekly Friday night concerts and a community market every Saturday morning, there is also a splash fountain, pavilion and amphitheater.


 

Camp Salmen

The amphitheater at Camp Salmen is an ideal venue for small ceremonies —weddings, scouts, and awards. Set on the banks of Bayou Liberty, this intimate venue can hold up to 125 people and is a serene and picturesque location for various types of events for groups in smaller numbers. About us

Originally a corridor for the Illinois Central Railroad, the Tammany Trace is now a hike and bike trail that spans from downtown Covington, through Abita Springs, Mandeville and Lacombe and ends in Slidell. A separate equestrian path parallels the Trace in several places. St. Tammany Parish government purchased the abandoned Illinois Central Railroad corridor on December 20, 1992. With the help of grants and federal dollars, St. Tammany Parish government has asphalted 31 miles, remodeled railroad trestles into pedestrian bridges, and maintained the Trace.
